Einstein’s Begonia

New show in the works!

When Albert Einstein died in 1955, he left behind a beloved house plant - a begonia which soon found itself cut, propagated, and shared with Einstein’s friends and admirers throughout the world.

Now: ‘Beggy’ the Begonia has struggled her way through ups and downs, the roller coaster of fame, and the exhilarating terror of self-transformation, only to find herself on a stage, singing her songs with a backup band of musical misfit plants.

Einstein’s Begonia is a new musical about grief, found family, and the search for identity, written by singer-songwriter Rebecca Pronsky (music and lyrics) and playwright Alexis Roblan (book).

A weekend of first readings will be presented in late August 2024 at The Tank.
