What a summer. We really packed it in, touring the length of the UK, visiting the beautiful, dramatic Scottish Highlands where 50 degree temperatures are summer, playing a festival in Suffolk on a goat farm where I came dramatically close to a super sized black slug, and heading all the way down to sunny Dorset where we were surrounded by the sound of sheep baaing under a double rainbow. Then we did gigs around the northeast in mid-summer, playing for relaxed,
tanned Americans and a few happy dogs, and spent some time in Maine eating lobster rolls and hiking.
We’re gonna take the action level down a notch for this season and settle back into Brooklyn, but we still have some great gigs closer to home around the northeast:
10.10 TEANECK, NJ Ethical Brew supporting Ellis
10.16 PHOENIXVILLE, PA Colonial Theatre supporting Shawn Colvin
11.7 BROOKLYN, NY Jalopy Theatre w/ Matt Munisteri
11.15 BROOKLYN, NY Barbès w/ The Universal Thump
And, speaking of the northeast, I am a finalist in the northeast region of the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest! Exciting! A lot of folks have been asking me about my new song “Shadow” which was inspired by a visit to the Dark Universe exhibit at the Hayden Planetarium, so I recorded a live video of Rich and me and playing the song in our living room for the NewSong website. You can watch it here and vote for me in the competition.
